Top 5 Oscars 2015 Red Carpet Looks

Lupita Nyong'o in custom Calvin Klein Collection

Lupita Nyong'o and stylist Micaela Erlanger have the rarefied ability to put fashion on the red carpet, and more often than not, receive praise from the masses for it.  Lupita stole the evening for me in a custom dress, which shockingly turned out to have been made by Calvin Klein.  I would have left the accessories to a single ring and a more minimalist sandal, but the added sparkle of the Chopard jewels and Nicholas Kirkwood pearl platforms convey a more classic, feminine vibe that takes some of the attention off the overwhelming uniqueness of the dress that would otherwise be off-putting to most.  A prime example of why Erlanger is at the top of her game.

Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior Spring 2014 Haute Couture

Marion Cotillard wore my favorite look from this Dior HC collection.  There is not too much to say - this look is perfection.

Naomi Watts in Armani Privé

Naomi looks so perfectly modern here in Armani, and her 50+ carat sapphire Art Deco Anna Hu earrings are absolutely jaw-dropping.  She also carries a clutch from Rauwolf, which seems to have been making a huge red carpet push as of late.

Rosamund Pike in Givenchy Haute Couture

Red dresses were a major trend this evening, and Rosamund Pike looked amazing in ultra-slimming custom Givenchy with the sort of minimal accessorizing I favor.

Dakota Johnson in custom Saint Laurent

Just a really cool dress.
